Linguini with Mushrooms and Italian sausage

1 lb of Italian sausage
1/3 lb. of mushrooms, sliced
2 cloves of garlic
14 cup of sherry, madeira or white wine
14 tsp. of nutmeg
1 cup of table cream or half and half
12 oz of linguini
parmesan cheese to taste


Sautee the sausage in medium high heat, 10 minutes or until it is cooked.

Remove the sausage from the pan.

Discard all but 2 tbsp. of the drippings.

Add mushroom slices and crushed garlic cloves

Sautee until mushrooms are cooked.


Add the sherry and stir.

Add the sausage, nutmeg and cream.

Simmer for a couple of minutes or until the sauce thickens.

Add the sauce to the pasta. Season with parmesan cheese to taste
