Los Antiguos Paquimés

On Tuesday November 5, 2013 at the Mary Pickford Theater of the Library of Congress Washington, D.C., Roberto Cesar Baca Miranda presented a lecture in Spanish: “Los Antiguos Paquimes”

Casas Grandes has been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, as it demonstrates the connections between the Pueblo Indians of the United States and those of Mexico. That civilization flourished between the 13th and 14th centuries and disappeared around the time of the Spanish Conquest.

The program was presented with the help of the Institute of Mexico in Washington, D. C.

Mr. Baca MIranda is a native and currently lives at Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico. The lecture was simultaneously translated by Dr. Virgilio Blanco, also of Casas Grandes.
